Sadly, my month of working with Christina Rossetti’s poetry must come to an end. To finish up the month, here is an essay I have written on her poetry. It is an early draft of a chapter towards a larger book I am writing about the power of writing in the Christian life; this means that it is long, but also means it is not yet drafted. I hope some of you can still find it an interesting and helpful read.
I’ve downloaded this for my night-time reading this evening. I’m looking forward to it.
I also noticed it appears my identical twin has liked you on Facebook as well. We have similar tastes. π
Great essay, Matthew. I would like to reflect on this in a post, quoting it extensively (with a proper link). Might I have your permission?
Thanks Tony. I’d be delighted if you wanted to refer to it. Thanks for the encouragement.
Excellent. I’ll likely post it tomorrow or Friday. Thanks so much, Tony.
Thanks for introducing me to some wonderful poets! I can’t say I was all that into poetry (I had a mild interest) but my interest is growing. And such a great essay on Christian Rossetti! Loved it! BTW…I’m reading a book called The Divine Conspiracy and the author, Dallas Willard mentions William Cowper and I was like, “I know him!!!!” *says it like Buddy the Elf* haha!! π
Thanks! I’m glad I’ve been able to help you get into poetry π And glad that you can gain some street cred with Dallas Willard.
